Mauro Releases "Family Farmer First" Rural Policy

U.S. Senate Candidate Eddie Mauro (D-IA) is the first Democrat in Iowa's U.S. Senate race to release comprehensive rural agricultural policy. The policy, "Family Farmers First: Making the Farm Bill Work for Iowa’s Family Farmers" proposes a number of measures to reform the Farm Bill to focus on putting families and family farmers first, not big agricultural interests.

"Iowa farmers and rural communities are struggling to make ends meet — and Joni Ernst and her bad policies have left them behind. We need to help these Iowans break free from this cycle and grow our small towns, rural communities, and farm incomes," said Mauro.

Mauro recently released a new ad, "Breaking Free", detailing the ways Joni Ernst's policies have held back rural Iowa, hurt our communities, and undermined the family farm.

The release of his plan comes in advance of a number of rural-focused town halls, live streams, and other events during the run-up to Iowa's Democratic Senate primary on June 2, 2020. Eddie Mauro ended the first quarter of 2020 with over $1m cash on hand and is well-positioned to win Iowa's Senate primary for the opportunity to take-on Joni Ernst in November.
